SAVVY Sister Spotlight: Keyonna - Tevistime Studios

How did you become the Savvy Sister that you are today?

I am Keyonna, a young 26! I have two little boys. Odin who is 5 and Satchel who is 1 - who keep my husband and I CONSTANTLY busy. I work from home running our photography/videography business and I love a good book and good sleep! haha.

I think since the very beginning I have wanted to do my own thing. I quickly fell in love with YouTube and how you can put whatever you want out there, so my little family began vlogging, but it just didn't exactly stick with us like it does for others.

One day I suggested to my husband that we should film weddings. I mean, why not use a skill set we have to make extra money? We went head first into it and we have now done almost 20 weddings and we are growing in photography as well. I have fallen in love with watching others celebrate their love and I have truly found my calling. I am also soon going to launch my blog that highlights all parts of who I am and the things I love to do, which I am really excited about.

What keeps you going when things get tough?

What keeps me going is showing my boys that even when times are hard, you have to keep going to live your dream. When I first started I didn't really have a "why." My reason was mainly based off the money because we needed it, but my why has turned into the joy I bring to people when I get to show them the memories I was able to capture from behind the lens. That is truly why I continue to do it and it is the most rewarding part of what I do.

What's one of the biggest lessons you've learned since starting your own business?

Staying organized is everything. Communication is key and so is consistency. I am still working on all of these, but they really do help your business run smoothly and bring in future clients.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give younger you?

Be exactly who you are because that is all that matters in the end.

...and boys aren't worth the freaking tears!

What are three of your greatest strengths?

Creativity. Ever since I was little, I have always been creative, writing, drawing, crafts, photography, etc.

Dreamer. Thinking about what could be keeps me going with what I am doing, I am able to vividly see where my goals will take me.

Voice. For so long I have always gone with whatever everyone else said. I have grown so much as a person and I find myself now speaking my mind and standing up for what I believe in.

What's your go to stress reliever?

A good book. Music. A good movie. Yoga. and most recently TikTok, haha!

What's something you're currently celebrating?

I am about to be 27 and I have come to realize it is truly a blessing to reach each birthday. I am grateful for our clients who have brought us so much business and of course my boys and husband!
