SAVVY Sister Spotlight: Alicia - Organized by Alicia

How did you become the Savvy Sister that you are today?

My name is Alicia, I’m 29 years old, and recently started my own business! I’ve been coaching with Sydney (SAVVY, LLC) for several months to help build my business and it’s made such a huge difference. I’ve worked in cluttered environments for years, and I get so excited when I can make a space more functional!

At OBA, we help you get your space back! Living or working in a functional & efficient space allows you to step into your creative flow and own your day. I've learned this through my own practice and I love being able to help others do the same!

What keeps you going when things get tough?

I don’t want to be ordinary - I want to be extraordinary. I’ve taken time to figure out my passions, and I finally feel like I have a purpose. Knowing my "why" behind the actions I take are what keep me going. I’ve never felt more myself in my life and I really focus on these feelings when it's not always smooth sailing.

What's one of the biggest lessons you've learned since starting your own business?

That my business is a constant experiment! Every decision I make is able to be changed. I had a hard time making decisions because they felt so permanent. I’ve learned that I’m going to make mistakes and changes and that’s just a part of the process.

If you could go back in time, what advice would you give younger you?

When your mom said you can be anything you want when you grow up, she MEANT it. Sometimes you have to look outside of what is considered a “conventional” job to find your passion. If you can dream it, you can create it. Don’t ever lose that creativity.

What are three of your greatest strengths?

I am very passionate, which by nature can be difficult at times. Once I believe in something - I go all the way. This helps me accomplish my goals!

I am a people person. Connecting with people is the key running a successful business.

I am optimistic. Starting a business definitely has its stresses. Believing that there is a solution for everything helps me navigate the stress - especially as a new entrepreneur in a COVID world.

What's your go to stress reliever?

A self care day. I like to sit in my room, listening to something relaxing and taking care of my body. Face masks are my GO TO!

What's something you're currently celebrating?

Elevating myself.

I gave up on myself for a few years. I was young and living for the now. Through my growth, I’ve learned how important I am. That I can be more - a leader, a good friend, successful, happy...and all I had to do was choose. I had to get uncomfortable and do things that felt hard. Initially, I resisted, but then I realized that I can do anything when I believe in myself. I’ve never felt more empowered and I’m excited to see what else I can do. This is my new standard!
